Field Day 2024

Another successful Field Day is in the books. We set up 6 miles north of Odessa, Missouri. The location is around 1000 ft elevation with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside.

• We used 5 different radios at various times during the event. We had 1 for CW, 2 for Digital Modes and 1 for Phone.
• This year we added a Get On The Air (GOTA) tent. It was set up with a 1000 watts of solar power and 400 amp hours of battery storage.
• Operating off a variety of batteries with solar power generation, we were able to complete the 24 hour event.
• 5 tents were used with one of them serving as a visitor center.
• The visitor tent had a TV displaying the current map of contacts for the event.
• We had a vertical antenna for the GOTA station, a linked dipole for CW, and an off-center fed dipole for the phone station. A vertical and an end fed half wave were both used for the digital station.
• A good time was had by all
