BSARC Community Involvement

Community Involvement

Ham Radio has a long history of service to our country and communities.  Our club and many of  its members continue this tradition.  This can take many forms through many different organizations.  We encourage everyone to find your place in one or more of these activities.  If you are interested in any of these opportunities, we are here to help.

Emergency Communications

As part of our civic activities, the Club aids the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District and the Blue Springs Police Department by providing auxiliary communications during times of need. Primarily, this means that we get called out during severe weather to provide skywarn services thus relieving police and firemen for other duties. All Club members are encouraged to help in this endeavor.  Contact the Emergency Communications Coordinator for more information – our Club and community need you.

The following is a list of International, National and Local organizations that provide opportunities to serve:

  • American Red Cross Disaster Services Technology
  • SATERN – Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network
