BSARC About Us

About Us

The Blue Springs Amateur Radio Club (BSARC) was formed in the late 1980s and originally hosted at the Blue Springs campus of the Metropolitan Community College. A fellow ham, Paul Thomson (KCØVG), was the college president at the time. The club was formed by using a mailing list supplied by the ARRL for area zip codes. Paul, Bob Groh (WA2CKY), and a few others were the founding instigators. Roughly 300 postcards were mailed out and the initial meeting had nearly two dozen in attendance.

Over the years the club has had 230 dues-paying members and an active roster between of thirty to fifty members.

Our club member licenses include:

  • 18 Amateur Extra
  • 1 Advanced
  • 8 General
  • 10 Technician

We are dedicated to the promotion of amateur radio in the Blue Springs and Eastern Jackson County Missouri area.
